Jake Elliot (Reflectionist) allowed me one song from his album Entropy to remix. The song I chose was "The Point is to Discover Them...". An expansive, lunar texture and flight-like atmosphere was perfect for a soft, repetitious melody. I tried for an emphasis on slight variation.
The rhythm of the melody and the lyrics are primarily derived from the speech from the original track.
The only instrumental parts I added were the strings heard at the beginning, middle, and end.
lyrics
to me
the point is to discover them
the truth is to find them
one for the ages
One for the ages
the truth is defined in
youth for the blinded
one for the ages
one for the ages
another for the ageless
youth of the sages
to me truth is not some vague foggy notion
truth is real
and at the same time, unreal
fiction and fact and everything in between
plus some things i can't remember
to me
The impossible often has a kind of
integrity to it
which the merely improbable lacks
truth is the cry of all / the truth is to find it
but the game of the few / the point is to discover them
The general welfare is not the sphere of truth
to me
to me
to me
one for the ages
one for the ages
another for the ageless
none for the aimless
one for the ages
one for the ages
one for the ages
the point is to discover them
the truth is to find them
one for the ages
one for the ages
truth is defined in
youth of the blinded
youth of the sages
youth of the ages
one for the aimless
one for the ages
one for the ages
to me
to me
to me
to me truth is not some vague foggy notion
truth is real
and at the same time, unreal
fiction and fact and everything in between
plus some things i can't remember
rolled up into
one
big
thing
there is some fiction in your truth
and some truth in your fiction
and to know the truth you must risk everything
one for the ages
one for the ages
one for the ages
one for the ages
one for the ages
one for the ages
